Fifty Five
We as Chargers fans (and football fans) lost a great one yesterday. Junior Seau committed
suicide in his Oceanside home, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. It sounds
like he has had a lot of personal problems over the last few years, but I don’t want to dwell
upon that but rather his greatness as a football player, person in the community of San Diego,
and all the good he did as a philanthropist. I can say I was privileged to see him suit and
play the position that a lot say, he helped revolutionize as the modern Line Backer.
I remember watching him play in the one Charger appearance in a Super Bowl; through
the good years and the lean ones too, he was the face of the Bolts. And even when he left
to play for the Patriots I said, best of luck to you Junior. And I say that again as he moves
on from here, wishing you the best of luck, Junior.
