Island in the Sun

I have been keeping myself so busy that I haven’t even had time to write.
Almost half a month has gone by and NOTHING from my mouth. Let’s see…

Job Hunt – Going great. Applied for a lot of positions.
I have received some feedback but as you can tell, still no FT jobby-job.
BUT (and that is a huge but) there are quite a few things on the
burner right now and I don’t want to jinx them, but I hope within
2 weeks I will have something.

Therapy – Some of you may know, some may not, but a month and a half ago,
I started therapy (again) to deal with a plethora of things going on in my
life – grief, loss, anxiety, insecurity, job, family, friends, love…
there is a lot to cover. I feel that each time pushes me forward on my road
to becoming a whole & better person. Thanks goes out to everyone that let me
bend their ears the last few months with relationship stuff.

“smiley’s” Mom & her husband invited us to go to Catalina on a day-trip.
They were going to fly up for lunch, some shopping and fly back.
ONE – I have never been to Catalina before and TWO – I have never been
in a small plane. It was a 4-seat Cessna. We left from Gillespie Field
in El Cajon. The flight only takes an hour. You never really get to
appreciate the beauty of San Diego from a large commercial airline,
but being that much closer to the ground, you really get to see everything.
Driving to Long Beach and taking a ferry would take you approx.
3 hours plus. The airport is at the top of the island and the airstrip
runs uphill. Very weird. You take a 30 minute bus ride down to Avalon –
the main city on the island. It is really just a big tourist trap but,
it really is cool. We had lunch & desert while we were there, along with some shopping & sightseeing.

At the end of the day, an hour and 30 minutes later we were back in San Diego.
A great day with great company.
