Cold Day in the Sun

When someone important to you passes you think about your own mortality.
Someone that influences your life in ways you don't realize until they are gone.
My 99 year old Grandma was that person to me. She passed away this morning.

Of course I look at the positive - Her living 99 years (which a lot of it was good),
and me getting to have her for 40 years of my life.

She taught me many important lessons in family, life, career, and how to just
be happy in your life. Things I will ALWAYS have with me.

Going to funerals is never easy. My Cousin that passed away last July was just
inhumed last weekend. It was hard because there hasn't been closure that
whole time. With her, I know my Mom has everything taken care of. She will
be layed to rest at Barona, in a proper indian burial.

But i get to go forth knowing the time I got to spend with her will keep me warm,
give me piece of mind, and allow me many great memories even as the cold
envelopes the sun on a very sad and gray day.
