Fields of Gold

Went to the Padre Fan Fest over the weekend. It was a great time!!
Petco is a great baseball stadium and events like this allow access
to the public that they never get. Good job, Pads!

Enough Space

My life has suddenly gone from mundane to BUSY in a blink of an eye. Isn't that how it is tho.
Holidays slooooooow you way down and the beginning of the year you ramp up. So my timeline is
on target being in the middle of February and having 3 freelance projects on deck, balls deep in
preping for my game, finding time for art & photography, AND having time for a relationship....
I'm wore out thinking about it.

But I thrive on the excitement, newness, and pressure all this brings. On a positive note,
all this means taking care of bills and putting some money aside. We are trying
to figure out a vacation for the end of the year.... decisions, decisions.

I am also thinking that I need a bigger space to hold me, my projects and my life.
Hmmmmmmm....

These Days

I am EXTREMELY blessed in my life these days. Lucky for love, great friends & family, and an awesome
career. When I have (or make) opportunities is when I excel. I had one of these on Monday.

Through awesome friendships I have made, I found out the location of a "secret" Foo Fighters show
in LA at the Roxy. Tasia had been jealous and wanting to see the Foo at a small venue since she
knew I saw them at Paladino's in December (another show I was GRATEFUL to get into). So we snuck up
to LA and got into a line with 40 other early birds on Sunset. By 5pm the line was probably 500 deep.
We got our special WHITE LIMO wristbands and were guaranteed admission to the 3rd small
secret show they were going to perform.

We spent the remainder of the evening shopping and eating dinner. Outside the venue was a madhouse.
We strolled right in and waited. Before the FF took the stage (at 10:30pm), Dave's old D.C. band
SCREAM performed, as well as Bob Mould (Husker Du). Both were great and well received by the audience.

Famous people spotted in the crowd were Nick Hexum & PNut of 311, Kat Von D and Ron Jeremy.

The Foo performed their new album front-to-back. Kicking it off Bridge Burning and Dave screaming
his balls off "These are my Famous Last Words!!!". 50 or so minutes and 11 songs later, we stood
slack-jawed. AWESOME!!!

They then proceeded to play a "greatest hits" set - All My Life, Times like These, Generator, My Hero,
Up in Arms, Big Me, Cold Day in the Sun, I'll Stick Around, Learn to Fly, Wattershed, For all the Cows,
Stacked Actors, Monkeywrench, Hey Johnny Park, Everlong, and an encore of Aurora, The Pretender,
and This is a Call.

Seriously...... So FUCKING Awesome!!! Sometime words cannot describe. After 1am we did the long drive
back to SD, but had a great time and an experience that most will not have in their life. Here's to Lucky #13.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One of these days the ground will drop out from beneath your feet
One of these days your heart will stop and play it's final beat
One of these days the clocks will stop and time won't mean a thing
One of these days their bombs will drop and silence everything

But it's alright
Yet it's alright
I said it's alright

Easy for you to say
Your heart has never been broken
Your pride has never been stolen
Not yet not yet

Never Let Me Down Again

As every year around this time, I get excited... the BIG GAME, I mean the SUPER BOWL
is on, and with that bring the BEST Commercials huge amounts of money can buy.

Unfortunately, it seems advertisers that once spent a ton of money to make ads
and a ton more to put them on the air, have missed something - GOOD Commercials!!!

They used to be the best and in the last few years, we were lucky to get one or two.
This year was a lot better!!! Here are my TOP 3 commercials for the game.

#1 - Volkswagen / The Force

#2 - NFL / Super Bowl Celebration

#3 - Careerbuilder / Parking Lot

Tweet, Twit, Twat....

So about a year and a half ago, the Foo had a contest that you had to enter using Twitter.
So OF COURSE I signed up for an account that day. Since then, 77 tweets later, I have
kept up with Tweeting my small social world of things I find interesting or what I'm up to.

I find it very interesting in a paranoid world that thinks Big Brother is looking over
their shoulder, that people are more than willing to tell others what they are doing,
where they are at, what they are eating, where they are shopping, vacationing, and
shitting. Even show compromising pictures of themselves.

I LOVE The openness of the Web. I think its great what leaps & bounds we have taken in
online learning, sharing, promoting and doing business. I wonder tho when the social media
transparency will come crashing down around us. Until then, I will enjoy reading tweets by
Man Vs Food, TMZ, and Adam Schefter.
