I bet you look good on the Dance Floor

Between the Beach Party Saturday day, the OBEY event on Saturday night
and the Foo Fighters show on Monday, it was the beginning of a busy couple
of weeks. Today is the double threat of Preview Night (and the official
start of) Comic Con, as well as Opening Day at the Del Mar Race Track.

As I stated last year, I have been attending since 1986 and registered
as a Pro since 1994. For anyone that hasn’t had the opportunity to attend,
it has really become more of a phenomenon as opposed to “just comics” –
it now encompasses comics, movies, video games, tv & pop culture in general.
I will shoot a lot of photos (as usual). I am attending tonight with Jimbo,
and I am supposed to meet up with Rare & Ronzi at the Con.

This years events and panels include a Battlestar Galactica panel,
a special on Bruce Timm (master animator and creator of Batman TAS,
Superman TAS, and both Justice League cartoons), a screening of
The Ultimates 2 cartoon, Kevin Smith talking about Clerks 2 and even
an ultra-rare appearance by Samuel L. “Bad Mother Fucker” Jackson.

Also on Saturday, SONY Online is having a Block Party at the studio.

On the other hand, I haven’t been to an opening day at the track in a long time.
It’s a scene… but a fun scene nonetheless. Especially fun if you are at the Turf Club,
sipping Mojitos. I am hitting the track on Sunday though.

Next week brings Jurassic 5, the Violent Femmes at 4 o’clock Friday @ the track,
the SOE Company Party, and Chixdiggit! In Long Beach.
