Went to see the Foo Fighters & Weezer Tuesday night. One word – “AWESOME!”
Dave Grohl leaves it all on stage that is for sure. I have tried to
convince everyone thatthe FF put on the BEST live show you will see.
I took “spork” and we had floor tixs. DG shaved beard taking him from
Bob Segar to rockin’ the Ted Nugent, 70’s ‘stache. Very NICE!!!

Nobody Does It Better

I found out one of my favorite eateries closed on the 4th of September.
Mission Hills Cafe is no more. For those of you that enjoyed it as much
as I did, you know when I say "You will be missed", it rings true.

Big Bang Baby

Well, I’m back online (finally) after my computer crashing last week.
The Hard Drive took a dive. I lost the system, applications, fonts, and e-mail address.
I had all my projects & some back-up on my 2nd drive. Thanks to “Fenn” for hooking
me up with a lot of the stuff I needed.

The lesson I learned is to be sure to back-up your computer at least once a month.
It will help get you up & running a lot quicker.

Territorial Pissings

Corporate America is coming to North Park.

The revitalization is taking a strong grasp on the community.
From the up & coming art scene, Off the Record moving into North Park,
the rebirth of the NP Theater, and all the small neighborhood coffee shops
(4 within walking distance of my house).

Of course, with revitalization comes large conglomerates that want
to be a hinge in the community. Here comes Starbucks. Don’t get me wrong,
I love me some SB. As a matter of fact, I drink more Starbucks that
getting a cup o’ joe at the neighborhood shops.

Sure the neighborhood is starting to look NICE and feel more safe
in the bad parts, but just remember to support the small guys before
they all disappear.

Killing in the Name of

Thursday I went to LA to meet with a new headhunter that
will be representing me in Los Angeles & The OC.
It was a good meeting and I already have a lead in Irvine.
I also did a little shopping on my trip. It is hard not to be
in LA and not shop on Melrose.

Friday I was back to the grindstone on the jobhunt & freelance work
I have been doing.I took a break and grabbed lunch. I was craving
an In & Out Burger. While I was there, at the one on Sports Arena Boulevard,
I noticed it was flooded with fresh-face Marines that must have
just finished basic training.

I seriously couldn’t believe HOW YOUNG they were!!

I was shocked & awed. It put a face on the military for me,
thinking that some of these young boys will not be coming home
from the “military action” we are performing in Iraq.

Keeping in the art vein, Saturday night in North Park brings out
Ray at Night. Every 2nd Saturday of the month, a dozen or so galleries
host local artists to showcase their works. My friend Mare will be showing
some of her photos from New Orlenas & Hurricane Katrina, at Wire 9 on the
corner of Ray Street and North Park Way.

Be sure to come by and support San Diego & the North Park revitalization.

Such Great Heights

As the summer wraps up, children head back to school, and the evening
actually cool down from the warm San Diego days, we celebrate the Labor Day –
the last BIG holiday before the end of the year ones.

Made a trip to the World Famous SD Zoo this week. I wanted to get a evening
in while “nighttime zoo” was still going on. It’s so cool to the animals
that are sleeping in the hot summer days, being active, eating and
playing around with each other.

I have lived here my whole life but being a native I hardly go to
the attractions here. The Zoo, Wild Animal Park, Sea World – all great!!
I have made the most of this summer. I made it to about 6 Padres Games,
to the Del Mar Track 4 times, the beach, a drive North and a bunch of great,
lazy summer days doing nothing.

I have some great things coming up for the end of the year: Flogging Molly @ HOB,
Foo Fighters / Weezer doublesupersizespectacular extravaganza,
beginning of Charger Season, the Padres in the playoffs,
my birthday, Holloween, the new Harry Potter movie just to name a few.

Having a few friends over for a Labor Day BBQ tomorrow.
Should be fun in the sun. Some Horseshoes, croquet,
drinking eating and just general fun.
